Reindeer Games

We played some Christmas Eve games, including two from Carol. The first was a Mad Lib. My favorite paragraph turned out:
One night we ate a feast. We ate platters full of frogs and pinecones and drank silver goblets glistening with grapes. The fire roared and cracked. We covered ourselves with velvet robes fringed with snowmen. Bruises adorned our feet, with bells on top. We made houses of people with lots of snowflakes and trees on top. Emma stuck an ointment on Lily's nose. We drank cocoa with little manure floating in it.
Another game was a riddle treasure hunt to get their new pajamas.
LILY:
Don't be a bore
Listen to some lore.
Make your way to a space
And do it with haste.
To a room that does rhyme,
With Happy Thanksgiving.
Now look if you dare
Just below a chair.
Pull something out,
You'll find your prize, no doubt.
[Hidden under a chair in the living room.]

EMMA:
What goes in between the covers
the alpha mega?
No, the alpha beta.
Read between the lines.
Tales of princesses and queens
Do tingle these spines.
[Hidden under the book she's reading, Princess Ben.]

McKENNA:
Take yourself and you must dash.
Before your eyes, you'll see a flash
You make feel like theives,
As you take it from the eaves.
Your toes may twinkle,
But that's not all.
Your eyes may wrinkle
and do not fall.
Reach up high to what is bright,
And you will find the prize that's right.
[This was the funniest one because it was lit up well by all the Christmas lights. I hung it just above the garage door. Her pajamas were of course modest but from Victoria's Secret and the bag they were in proclaimed it quite loudly. When she climbed up several cars saw her retrieving her loot.]

SAM:
Your clue may out fox,
Unless you find the right box.
A frozen confection, in it abides.
Wherein, the pjs do hide.
Now what do you think?
I make give you a wink.
What's my favorite sweet treat?
To guess is no great feat.
[This clue was OBVIOUSLY way too easy for him. The only twist was that it was in the freezer in the outside rather than inside. Coming up with a clue to challenge Sam would be tough.]
