On the way to pageant, Sam and I met in Washington D.C. We went to China Town, the Capitol, his favorite restaurant (Market Inn), and to Theodore Roosevelt Island--a place Sam had always wanted to visit as a page. It was so beautiful and lush. We were nearly the only people there and it was dusk so there were hundreds of fireflies out.
